Loving Liz Earle!

Last week it occurred to me that except from using a face wash at night time, I had more or less no set skincare routine, and I decided that I should start one, because at the end of the day you only have one face for the rest of your life and so you should look after your skin! After watching a few beauty youtubers skin routines I decided that I was going to invest in some Liz Earle products.

I got the March essentials deal, which consists of a Cleanse and polish, a toner, and a suitable moisturiser, then you get to pick a complimentary problem solver, I got the deep cleansing mask! As a botanical treat I also got a free mini cleanse and polish which is so useful for travelling. I got all of this for £45 which is so good in my opinion, for the quality of the products! I got the combination/oily moisturiser as I suffer with more oily skin than dryer skin.

I started using these products straight away in the order of Cleanse, tone and moisturise! I have also tried out the clay face mask too, however you only need to use this about once a week!

I am so so impressed with these products, my skin is looking and feeling better than ever and this is just after 1 week. I use these products morning and night and they leave my skin feeling fresh and soft, and my skin is very sensitive and I have had no issues with them irritating my skin! They are 100% worth the money and I really would recommend these products for anyone as they cater for every skin type and also have a massive range of different products. You also get 2 muslin cloths to use with the cleanse and polish which work really effectively in removing any grime or stubborn bits of makeup!

From using these products I have noticed that my skin has become brighter and healthier looking, my blemishes along my hair line have cleared! I have had less oil appear on my face and also my skin is feeling so soft and rejuvenated, do not hesitate in buying these amazing products, I love them!

Thanks Liz Earle!

Roots- Lush Hair Mask Review!

At the weekend I purchased a different hair mask from lush, I usually use the R&B one but i was seeking something that would benefit my scalp/roots as well as my hair condition and so i picked up 'Roots', it was £10.75 which at first i was sceptical about but after using it last night i can say it is 100% worth it!

Firstly i loved the consistency of this product, it mimics the thickness of a natural yoghurt which i found perfect for applying to my roots/scalp, it felt so refreshing on my head and not too slimy also you don't need that much, a little goes a long way which is good as it means it will last.

I found that applying it evenly throughout my roots and over my scalp then massaging my head for 10-15 minutes was the most effective way, this allows the product to activate and also a head massage is a great stress reliever!

After i then chucked my hair up in a messy bun and left the hair mask on until the morning when i washed it out previous to washing my hair normally, on the tub it says wash it out after 15 minutes but i thought i would give my hair the best chance to absorb it.

Today i woke up to silky, shiny and soft hair... it feels and looks so healthy, i would definitely recommend this product if you want to rejuvenate your hair from the root and promote hair growth, i also find that i have a highly sensitive scalp and this hair mask definitely helped sooth it!

What's you favourite hair product this month?

That's all for today Lauryn x

The perfect Scents!

Before Christmas i had literally ran out of all body sprays and perfumes, i found myself stealing my mums! So i hinted for a few different scents for Christmas, and i was very lucky with the out come!

I thought i would share the body sprays and perfumes i have been loving and wearing recently!

1. Chanel Mademoiselle

I was so surprised when i un-wrapped this on Christmas, i have always wanted a Chanel perfume but they are very expensive! This perfume is a classic and the scent suits most girls, it is a sweet yet almost warming scent and i love it! One spritz and you can smell it on you all day, 100% recommend it! I tend to wear this on special occasions rather than everyday.

After smelling so many different Victoria Secret sprays at school i couldn't resist, so one got added to my Christmas list and i was so lucky to receive it! Love addict is a sweet, floral, fruity scent and i love it, i have been taking this to school and have received several compliments on it, so it's definitely a good one to try!

This was actually a surprise and i didn't know what to expect which was so exciting! This scent is gorgeous! Unlike the other two above i wouldn't describe this as a sweet scent, it is soft and delicate and has undertones of petals and sandal wood, it is so refreshing and a perfect scent for all year round!

I received this in a Ted Baker gift set and just like all the other Ted Baker scents i really like it, i also love the rose quartz esc packaging! This spray has floral/fruity notes incorporated into it with a stronger musk and sandalwood base, it is perfect to keep in your makeup bag and a lovely everyday scent! I have to say this has to be my favourite Ted Baker scent!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post, that's all for today..

Things i've been loving so far!

I know we're only a week into 2016 but already there's been so many things I've been loving and i just want to share with you!

Firstly i want to share an easy and natural skin remedy that I've been using since the end of 2015, i came across it on good old Pinterest and i had to try it, personally i think it's great. If you suffer with acne scars, un even skin tone, dry skin, under eye bags, dry lips or any skin perfections, as a "night cream" mix 2 drops of tea tree oil with one drop of bio oil on a cotton pad and apply on your face, neck and lips- but try and avoid getting it in your mouth it tastes awful! this is cheap, easy and effective!

Next is a really easy 'DIY' but it's so simple i almost wouldn't class it as one, there's lots of things like this on Pinterest however i thought this would be a good idea for the new year.
It's a jar with lollipop sticks in, and on each stick is an activity that me and Chad can do together, every month we are going to pick one out. This is a good way of getting out the house and doing a variety of different things together!

Another favourite of mine are very new additions to my makeup bag but i love them already! It's a Mac lipstick in 'Velvet Teddy' i have been wanting to buy a Mac lipstick for so long and i finally invested in one, i have no regrets and i absolutely love this shade! I also got a lip liner in 'Whirl' which compliments the lipstick perfectly! Definitely worth the extra money in my opinion.

Here is what the combination looks like on me-

Finally i have a book to read again! Last year i only read 2 books, this year wanting to read more is definitely an aspiration, when i have spare time anyway! I was lucky to receive 'All the bright places' by Jenifer Niven as a present from Chads parents (Thank you so much) as I've wanted to read this for so long, and although I've only read a few chapters so far, i am struggling to put it down! It is a very well written book and there will 100% be a review on this when i have finished it. I would definitely pick this up!

I mentioned how i loved Burts Bees products in a previous beauty favourites and i was delighted when mum gave this to me, I've been using these products for the last few days and i love them, especially the hand cream and the hand salve, although they have weird scents due to the natural contents of the products. In my opinion you can't beat Burts Bees!

In my 2016 aspirations post i said how i wanted to do some scrapbooking, and how i had purchased one from Hobby Craft, although i haven't done much in it yet, i couldn't resist but to decorate the front so i thought i would share it with you and i will definitely share more of it throughout the rest of the year!

The last time i went to town i purchased a few bits from jack wills, some joggers (which i have been living in) and a faux fur headband, although i already own a Dubarry one i find it a bit too big for my head, this one seems to fit better on my little head! Get one while you can as they are now reduced to £5! from an original £19.50.

sorry for the bad selfie!

The final thing i have been loving so far is Twining's Soothing honey and Camomile tea, i have found it helps to relax me and is very soothing, i tend to drink it when i wake up and before i go to bed. I have to admit it does take getting use to from normal tea but it is so good for you and i love it. I have also been liking the energizing nettle tea!

What have you been loving so far? - Lauryn x

Urban Decay De slick Setting Spray!

On Friday i took a trip into town i didn't really know what i wanted to buy, however as i passed the Urban Decay counter in Debenhams the De slick Setting Spray caught my eyes and after previously hearing good reviews on it i couldn't resist...

Although I've only been using this product for several days i am so happy with the results and i need to give it the praise it deserves!

Firstly at £21 i do have to say it's on the pricier side of the scale, however in my opinion it's completely worth the money.

I have to admit i haven't yet taken pictures of the results but i will! You will just have to trust me when i say the product is definitely worth purchasing.

Yesterday i went shopping with my mum, i sprayed several mists on my face prior to applying my makeup and several after, this was at about 10 in the morning, and after a full day of shopping, getting hot in cramped changing rooms and busy shops my makeup had not really budged! I usually suffer with an oily T zone and chin and my mum commented on how this setting spray had minimised this! I am looking forward to using this throughout the school year meaning that i can take less trips to the toilets having to re apply my powder! Obviously this isn't a miracle worker, it doesn't make your makeup bullet proof however it helps prolong your makeup and reduces oil.

I have also noticed that this product doesn't cause any harm to my skin and it is very sensitive!

I promise to upload result pictures as a follow up to this blog post, i recommend this product if you are looking for a good setting spray, it is definitely one of my favourites for this month, what are yours?

Sweet Soap and Glory products!

Recently I have been loving Soap and Glory, everything from the packaging to the consistency of the products and definitely the gorgeous sweet smell of the products!

Any Soap and Glory products are great for giving at Christmas for girls that love to pamper themselves and like sweet, girly scents! They are reasonably priced as well.

Firstly I used the 'Clean on me' shower gel, this gives a really nice lather whether you are in the bath or shower, it smells delicious and leaves your skin feeling so soft!

Then I used the 'Scrub of your life'  this is great for exfoliating especially in the colder months when dry skin becomes a problem for most people, again great for the bath or shower, it leaves you feeling and smelling amazing! It creates a lather but also acts as a scrub, a great product to own.

After I got out the shower I dried myself off before applying 'The righteous butter' all over my arms, legs chest and stomach, I love the fresh, clean feel this gives when applied, the consistency is thick but not greasy in anyway and it absorbs a treat, not forgetting the sweet smell and the smoothing, glossy look it gives your skin. This has to be one of my favourite moisturisers especially for the winter months.

Then I apply 'Heel genius' all over my feet, this product is great for preventing and helping to get rid of dry skin, it rejuvenates your tired feet feeling so refreshing and fast absorbing which is essential within a foot care product as you don't want your feet to feel sticky or slippery.

Finally I use one of Soap and Glory's most popular products 'Hand food' obviously on my hands, this hand cream is an easy absorbing and moisture filled consistency, I find myself using it a lot throughout winter as no one likes the feeling of dry hands! it feels and smells amazing and I can't fault it.

Once I have moisturised every part of my body, feeling refreshed and clean, and smelling sweet and appealing, I spritz my self with Soap and Glory's 'Mist you madly' body mist, it smells floral and sweet with a slight marshmallow scent to it, in in one word- delicious! You can never go wrong with this scent it's not too heavy but gives a sweet, flirty scent.

That's all my Soap and Glory products, I love these products and definitely recommend them for a Christmas present or yourself! They are available from Boots and Superdrug at reasonable prices.

That's all for today- Lauryn x

Urban Decay Naked 3 palette & Aveda hair products!

Recently my posts have been really infrequent and i have been in need of inspiration, however i thought i would share a few beauty/hair products that i have been loving for many months now!

The first product is by Urban Decay one of my favourite high end makeup brands, although their products are a little more pricey they are definitely worth it, i have never been disappointed by the quality. A few months ago i decided to invest in the Naked 3 eyeshadow Palette as everybody is always raving about these palettes and i thought i would go for the Naked 3 due to the rose gold tones throughout the palette!

The packaging-

The packaging is a rose gold rigged tin, it is a nice, practical size to carry around and just like the other 2 palettes it comes with a fairly big mirror and a double ended brush.

The product-

It consists of an array of 12 beautifully pigmented shades, from smooth mattes, to shimmering pearls and gleaming metallics this palette has all you need to create a variety of stunning looks.

The pigmentation is really bold and the colours are long lasting! These are a few of my favourites: buzz, liar and blackheart.

I really recommend this product and despite the price of £38 it really is worth it !
My second favourite is a hair product brand that I swear by! Several months ago I discovered Aveda  when I was given some samples in the local hairdressers, These products state that they are made from 'pure flower and plant essences' and although a lot of products claim this I thought I would give them a try!

So I tried the shampoo, conditioner, the scalp revitaliser for thinning hair and also the leave in repairing conditioner, and I am safe to say that I was so pleased with the overall brand, my hair feels so much healthier, it has grown as well as thickened and the products leave my hair feeling so soft and looking shiny.

I have repurchased all of these products several times however I remain to buy the travel sizes as my pocket can't quite stretch to £22 for 250ml of one product, the miniatures are still pricey at £7 each but I seriously swear by them!

That's all for today

Free prints- favourite app review!

A month or two ago i found myself scrolling through the app store, seeking for a new exciting app. I wasn't too impressed or in a rush to download anything.. until i came across 'free prints' the word free had me hooked instantly and i had to read more. I don't regret downloading the app and i definitely recommend downloading it!

Free prints is an easy way of ordering free, good quality, developed photographs off your phone or iPad, all you have to do is select which photo's you want and type in a few simple details. The good thing about the app is that you get up to 40 free 9x4 pictures every month and after getting the first delivery for free it is only an additional £1.79 every order, which in my eyes for 40 quality pictures is amazing!

Once i had received the photos i was a bit unsure of where to put them, i knew i wanted to have them in my room, and on display. So the most obvious place seemed to be my wall, i started sticking photos on there every time i ordered some and it looks better every time, along with my fairy lights along my bed, it is a great way of making your room more personal to you and also more homely. There is nothing better than being reminded of memories, inspirational quotes, loved ones, photography, and friends every time you look at your bedroom wall.

If you want a cheap easy way of adding a statement piece to your room definitely consider making a photo wall, and then best thing is you can just keep adding to it, i have really enjoyed discovering this app and it is definitely my favourite for this month, give it a go!
