My Favourite October Lunch Date!

So last week I met up with my friend Sian who I hadn't seen for months so we were seriously overdue a catch up and a lunch date!

Sian suggested the 'Rising cafe' I said it sounded good, I had never been there before however I had walked past and it looked pretty nice and welcoming, so that's where we went.

As soon as we walked in we were surprised at how cool it was, it it so authentic and it has a vintage, patriotic feel to it, we instantly loved it. We were both guilty of taking a million and one photo's of it (especially me) one for snapchat, one for Instagram, and a load for my blog...

Not only was the decor amazing, as soon as we saw the food that was being brought our way our eyes lit up! We both ordered a salad and honestly it was the best salad I've ever had- mine had chicken, bacon, avocado and a garlic sauce as well as the typical salad bits; DELICIOUS!

This cafe has such a great menu and I felt like they really cater for everyone including vegetarians, coeliacs and everything else in between.

After we had a cheeky bit of cake, I was secretly praying that the giant, gooey chocolate cake was the gluten free one, that was of course to good to be true however I had a yummy gluten free coffee cup cake whilst Sian ate the chocolate cake that I wanted haha!

I also loved the fact they served their drinks in mason jars with straws, my favourite way to drink! I was so pleasantly surprised with this cafe and it really is a hidden little gem that I would really recommend for a lunch date!

I'll leave the rest for you to find out if you ever visit- and I really do recommend a visit. It's located within the 'Alive Church' on Newland street in Lincoln and I'll link the website HERE for you.

I hope you enjoyed having a look at my most loved cafe for this month and I'll see you soon with another post!

A catch up and Coconutlane.com!

There's several reasons why I haven't done a blog post in so long, firstly I'm trying to revise, I've also been working more and lastly I have felt restricted by myself, restricted to relax and surround myself with normality's. I feel so overwhelmed. I have recently found myself staring into a space of confusion and obliviousness; completely unaware of what's going on around me, and then I'm back. I feel that the problem is how stressed and pressured I have been feeling towards exams and I know that I shouldn't have stopped normal leisurely things that keep me motivated and extra happy, such as being around my horses, doing work outs, blogging!  I am still happy but I am definitely not my normal self even if I have been covering it all up with a smile and a dash of artificial confidence.

There really isn't much purpose of this post, in fact this is more for me, but what I'm trying to say is it is essential to keep a balance between work, pressure and order and fun, leisure and relaxation. Evidently I have been amid the stress and pressures that I have put onto myself and failed to keep a balance resulting in me being in a constant blur of stress and exhaustion, feeling RUBBISH.

Despite the fact that you may feel the need to do endless hours of revision and work, you can give yourself some time to relax, go outside, do the things that you like doing and most importantly be kind to yourself because at the end of all this your health and well being are more important than your grades (even if you won't admit it)

Something that cheered me up yesterday was the email I received from Coconutlane.com, I am officially a representative for their lovely brand! I will be doing lots of reviews on their products over the next few months! You can get 20% off any purchase at Coconutlane.com when you use the code 'lauryn20'

Here are a few of the gorgeous goodies you can find on their website

That's all for today and I'll be back soon with a more cheerful post! I hope you're enjoying your half term break!

Sweetheart Style!

With Valentines day shortly approaching i thought i would put together and share with you a super cute but classy outfit, suitable for a meal out or even a nice meal in! including my gorgeous new off the shoulder body suit from Boohoo which i absolutely adore, it is so pretty!
I'm sorry about the photo- quality of the stripes on the skirt, it's just the effect the flash has on it! I think this Striped Midi skirt from Primark goes perfectly with the white body as it am loving monochrome recently and the fitted skirt contrasts the flowy top beautifully and is very figure flattering!
Personally i think wearing an open back top or dress is so sophisticated and classy, i love how this top sits on my shoulders and it is also so comfortable! The great thing about body suits is you don't have to worry about them creasing up as they stay put perfectly and it's like wearing a leotard! This is my second one in my wardrobe now- Definitely favourites for this season!

I paired this outfit with these simple, black, chunky, open toed heels that i picked up from Office last year, they are so comfortable and i think they go perfectly with this outfit- dressing it up! Definitely a pair of go to heels!

I think this look can be pulled of my most people as it is simplistic and very, very flattering!

I love this outfit and think it would be great for Valentines day or just a more formal occasion!

I hope you enjoyed this look and have a great week!

Simple Autumn candle holder!

Tonight i felt bored and i wanted to try something different so i went on we heart it looking for inspiration, and i spotted some decorated jam jars, this triggered me to think about a autumnal themed candle. Besides the warm baggy jumpers, hot chocolates and the amazing fashion, the beautiful fallen leaves have to be my favourite! So i ventured outside to collect some of the prominently coloured leaves.

Then i found an old jam jar out of the kitchen and cleaned it, this can be any size you want.

Once you have done this you can start putting a layer of glue onto a leaf (i used pritt stick) and then place it onto the outside of the jam jar, do this until you have covered it. I found that it was more effective with little gaps between the leaves as the light from the candle gleams through. When you are happy with the outside of the jar add a tea light. When you light it the light produced from the tea light should shine through the leaves creating a bright, autumnal effect. This is a simple but effective way to make your room feel more seasonal and homely, also it's free! I will definitely be making more of these!

I really hope you enjoyed this easy, autumn DIY and i am sorry for the lack of posts i have been very busy with my horses, i will try and post more frequently this month!
