What I got for my birthday!

Long time no blog! I have been so so busy with revision and I've also been working out as well as ensuring I'm in bed for 10 on a school night! It was my 16th birthday yesterday and so I thought I would just share a few things that I was lucky enough to receive!

DISCLAIMER- I am not in any way bragging and I am so grateful for everything I was given!

Firstly I opened a beautiful Tiffany and Co box to see a lovely pair of silver Tiffany earrings that match the necklace I have! In the photograph I've taken they look bug however they are nice and dainty and I love them!

The next thing that I was given is a little Sony, cube speaker. It fits into my hand and is portable, but don't be fooled.. it can go so loud and the sounds quality is really good especially for it's size, even better it's charge lasts for 6 hours! I also love its slick look and it fits perfectly in my newly decorated room!

I was so annoyed when I ran out of my Aveda shampoo and conditioner shortly before my birthday and I was so lucky to receive some Aveda Invati shampoo and conditioner, Aveda products are amazing they're made out of 90% plant based products and leave my hair in great condition! The Invati ones are perfect for thinning hair like mine.

I was so grateful when I opened a Benefit Feelin' Dandy Cheek and Lip kit! I've wanted one for ages and just never got round to purchasing one, I applied the products in this kit this morning and I love them! They really brighten up my face and give me a bit more dimension and colour!

I was so excited to be handed a Pandora box as I love Pandora and I love adding to my bracelet. I was given a beautiful diamante heart, I love it and it fits in perfectly on my bracelet! Can you tell that I love hearts haha!

Chad also let me chose something from Topshop which was quite exciting! I chose a gorgeous textured white mini skirt, it fits perfectly and I've worn it already! The skirt features in the picture below i didn't just randomly put it there!

Finally I was so grateful to receive some money which I'm sure I will have fun spending as it seems to be my speciality.. and there's so many things I would love to buy!

Thank you to everyone who gave me presents and cards and also just wished me a Happy Birthday!

Autumn/Winter Beauty Essentials

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

As the weather gets colder we need to take extra care of our skin, hair and lips as everything becomes dryer and in need of extra moisture, so i thought i would put together some products that i typically use in the colder months to keep my skin, hair and lips looking healthy!

First on my list is a body lotion/butter, this is used all year round however it is an essential when it comes to winter as we sometimes forget about our skin in the colder months as we tend to be wrapping up more efficiently and our skin becomes duller and dryer.

I have been using a loving a Baylis and Harding body butter enriched with vitamins b and c ensuring that my skin stays bright, firm and healthy. I love the overall feel and result of his product as well as the smell, mandarin and grapefruit.

also highly recommend the soap and glory body butter as it has such a nice consistency and is absorbed quickly!

My next essential is a lip balm, having dry, chapped lips is almost unavoidable in the colder months however using a lip balm regularly really can give your lips thr boost of moisture that they need.

Burts Bees lip balm is my holy grail when it comes to winter! It really is a good product as it is made of bees wax, moisture rich vitamins and other natural ingredients such as Acaf berry. Bees wax helps seal moisture into your lips and keeps your skin conditioned. I really recommend Burts Bees products as they stand out from all the other products!

Before applying lip balm a lip scrub really helps to soften and plump your lips, I use this sugar based scrub from lush, it works a treat and the best part is you can just lick your lips afterwards!

Another of my winter must haves is a refreshing/setting mist from the body shop, this is a very versitile product as it can be used to initially set your makeup or just for a refresher, I love this throughout all the months however it's great to give our skin a moisture boost in the colder seasons as our skin can become dry and no longer has the glowy sun kissed look! Vitamin E is very important for tissue repair and moisturising our skin.

In winter our hands are prone to becoming dry and in need of some tlc so a hand cream is a must have, I can recommend several hand creams, firstly the almond hand and nail cream from the body shop, this is amazing for softening your hands and cuticles it is a really nice consistency and also a very distinctive but nice scent.

If you are looking more of a high end hand cream then I recommend the lemon and coconut hand cream made by the jojoba company, enhanced with jojoba oils this hand cream really does make a noticeable difference to your hands and nails however is a little bit more pricey at £15!

The hand cream I am using at the moment is one that I picked up in tescos, it's the vanilla swirl cupcake hand cream by the brand happiness, firstly I love the cupcake scent of this, although this isn't quite as good as others I have tried I do like this product and will proceed to use it .

To finish I couldn't resist to mention this product again, it's the Aveda damage remedy leave in conditioner, I find that when the harsher weather comes along my hair can become a bit more brittle and dry and therefore this product is a perfect autumn/winter essential, I use a tiny bit through the lengths of my hair every other day, usually in between washes. At £7 for a 25ml bottle there are much cheaper leave in products however if you want the amazing results of this product I would say go for it!

Also I would highly recommend that you give the R&B hair mask a go (from lush) as it made such a difference to my hair condition and also helped promote my hair growth!

Urban Decay Naked 3 palette & Aveda hair products!

Recently my posts have been really infrequent and i have been in need of inspiration, however i thought i would share a few beauty/hair products that i have been loving for many months now!

The first product is by Urban Decay one of my favourite high end makeup brands, although their products are a little more pricey they are definitely worth it, i have never been disappointed by the quality. A few months ago i decided to invest in the Naked 3 eyeshadow Palette as everybody is always raving about these palettes and i thought i would go for the Naked 3 due to the rose gold tones throughout the palette!

The packaging-

The packaging is a rose gold rigged tin, it is a nice, practical size to carry around and just like the other 2 palettes it comes with a fairly big mirror and a double ended brush.

The product-

It consists of an array of 12 beautifully pigmented shades, from smooth mattes, to shimmering pearls and gleaming metallics this palette has all you need to create a variety of stunning looks.

The pigmentation is really bold and the colours are long lasting! These are a few of my favourites: buzz, liar and blackheart.

I really recommend this product and despite the price of £38 it really is worth it !
My second favourite is a hair product brand that I swear by! Several months ago I discovered Aveda when I was given some samples in the local hairdressers, These products state that they are made from 'pure flower and plant essences' and although a lot of products claim this I thought I would give them a try!

So I tried the shampoo, conditioner, the scalp revitaliser for thinning hair and also the leave in repairing conditioner, and I am safe to say that I was so pleased with the overall brand, my hair feels so much healthier, it has grown as well as thickened and the products leave my hair feeling so soft and looking shiny.

I have repurchased all of these products several times however I remain to buy the travel sizes as my pocket can't quite stretch to £22 for 250ml of one product, the miniatures are still pricey at £7 each but I seriously swear by them!

That's all for today
